INSTRUCTIONS FOR BECOMING A NOTARY OR RENEWING YOUR NOTARY

COMPLETE THE APPLICATION

• If you are a new notary, or if you are renewing your notary after your expiration date, complete the application form in full.  You must swear or affirm and sign the Declaration of Applicant in front of a Notary Public. 

• If you are renewing your notary before your expiration date, complete only the Applicant Information and Applicant Personal Data sections of the application.

• Your name and your signature on the application form must be identical. We require your last name and at least your first and middle initial.

• Your Social Security Number is required.

SELECT A NOTARY BOND PACKAGE FROM OPTIONS BELOW

• Your name on the surety bond should be identical to your name and your signature on the application form.

SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION

Send the following:

• The completed application form.
• A copy of the $10,000 surety bond provided by Washington Notary Association Co.
• The $30.00 fee to:

• Make your check or money order payable to the Washington State Treasurer.

 OBTAIN  YOUR NOTARY SEAL OR STAMP

(Please mail to corporate office address above or fax to 800-366-8279 or email us at info@notarybonding.com to provide us with a copy of your notary public certificate of appointment)

• Upon completion of any notarial act, you must sign the notary certification using your name exactly as it appears on your notary public certificate and on the seal or stamp.

REQUIRED BY LAW: YOU MUST PROVIDE A FAXED OR EMAILED COPY OF YOUR CERTIFICATE OF APPOINTMENT TO ORDER OFFICIAL STAMPS OR SEALS IN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON
