STEP 1 - TAKE THE SHORT ONLINE TEST AND RECEIVE YOUR NT TRANSACTION ID NUMBER.

Once the short online test is completed and you have received your NT transaction ID number please proceed to STEP 2 and order your low cost notary bond package online, by fax or mail. Be sure to print off a copy of your NT transaction ID number to keep for your records.
STEP 2 - ORDER YOUR LOW COST NOTARY BOND PACKAGE FROM $50.00 ONLINE, BY FAX OR MAIL.
NOTE: The notary bond packages include your Secretary of State filing fee of $5.00 which we will
pay for and submit to the Secretary of State for you.

STEP 3 - WE WILL ELECTRONICALLY FILE YOUR NOTARY BOND FOR YOU WITH THE SECREATARY OF STATE'S OFFICE.
Once we receive your notary bond package order via online, fax or mail we will electronically file your notary bond with the Indiana Secretary of State's Office.
STEP 4 - NOTARY COMMISSION APPROVAL FROM THE SECRETARY OF STATE'S OFFICE.
Once the Secretary of State's Office approves your notary commission we will print your notary public certificate of approval and mail it directly to you. At this time we will order your official stamp seal.
STEP 5 - YOU WILL RECEIVE YOUR CERTIFICATE OF APPROVAL AND OFFICIAL STAMP SEAL.
You will receive your certificate of approval in the mail before you receive your new official stamp seal. Please allow ample time to receive your new official stamp seal due to the fact that it must be personalized and manufactured.
Once you receive your new official stamp seal in the U.S. mail you will be authorized to begin your notarial duties.

STATE REQUIREMENTS
ELIGIBILITY
Be 18 years old or older.
Be a legal resident of Indiana.
Not hold a lucrative office or appointment under the United States or the State of Indiana.
Not have been convicted of a crime and have received a sentence exceeding six months imprisonment.
PROVISIONS
Non-Residents: Not permitted.
Bond: A 5,000 bond is required for new or renewing notaries.
Errors & Omissions Insurance: Optional. Notary Service and Bonding Agency, Inc. strongly recommends that Indiana notaries insure themselves against claims of negligence.
Filing Fee: A $5 state filing fee is required for new and renewal notary applications.
Term: 8 years.
Jurisdiction: Statewide.
Renewal: A notary may apply 60 days before expiration of the current commission by completing a renewal notary public application.
Notary Seal: Required. A embosser or rubber inked stamp.
Education/Testing: None required.
Record Journal: None required. Notary Service and Bonding Agency, Inc. strongly recommends to keep a notary journal to record the signer's name, signature, identification, date and other pertinent information that a Indiana notary performs.
